Present Location: Ulster & Delaware RR Historical Society, (Arkville, NY)
Condition: was under cosmetic restoration, project stagnant; restoration to operation alledgedly pending funding.
Notes: H. K. Porter "Medium" saddle-tank model
("3/4 length" saddletank)

It is believed that #14 and #15 were purchased as a result of the expansion of BEDT operations at the Wallabout Terminal

Suffered firebox explosion in 1953 (see loco footnotes)

BEDT documents dated June 24, 1963 request $9,500 asking price of #14.

Non-BEDT documents (5/1990 issue of Semaphore) shows #14 was sold to E. Bernard.
   This is incorrect, as this engine was sold to George Hart (with #13) for use on Maryland & Pennsylvania. 
Copies of records at RR Museum of Pennsylvania confirm this.

After leaving BEDT property, an air pump was added to the left side of smokebox by M&P

Also, data shows #14 was refitted with 44" drivers. 
   This info is erroneous. Actual measurements of the wheels show true 46" diameter, which is correct for this type Porter locomotive with 18" x 24" cylinders. (as per 1943 HK Porter tractive force / boiler pressure / driving wheel size tables)

September 6, 1936 - North 6th Street Float Bridge

Note the dented grabring on dome. This photo also raises a question as the front pilot beam differs
from the pilot beam in both images above and below!
In this image, the poling pocket appears to be bolted to and protrudes from the pilot beam.
In the other images, the poling pocket is a dimple cast into the steel of the pilot beam.
Also, the original pilot beam has weight reducing voids seen on the end.
This pilot beam appears solid. Also, the bolting pattern is different between the two pilots.

Joe Roborecky and myself believe the original cast steel pilot suffered some damage,
which required repair, and was taken off, necessitating the use of this temporary
pilot beam, which was then removed when the original was repaired or replaced.
note what appears to be the top of a floating grain elevator over the top girder of the bridge
about an inch in front of the locomotive.
